Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center
The Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center (APJCC) seeks to become the community gathering place — an extended family and second home for our members and visitors. The APJCC is dedicated to the enhancement of Jewish life by providing for the social, cultural, educational, recreational, health and wellness needs of our community.
Every week the APJCC serves thousands of members and visitors of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds who are drawn here by both our programs and services and by our network of Jewish and community friends of all generations. In addition to serving the personal health and wellness needs of its individual members, the APJCC strengthens the whole community, for example, by providing hot lunches for older adults, recreation programs for children with special needs, Jewish education, arts and culture, and subsidized APJCC memberships and preschool tuition for those with demonstrated financial need.
The JCC has been part of the community since 1974, but it has been within the last 10 years that we have all truly begun to appreciate what a thriving JCC can bring to the community.
Today the APJCC is a vibrant, full–service center with:
- State-of-the-art fitness center
- Aquatics center
- Tennis complex
- Full-court gymnasium
- Highly regarded preschool
- Summer and seasonal camps
- Club J and after-school programs
- Adult education
- Art exhibits and cultural events
- Russian Jewish community programs
- Social and enrichment programs for all ages
- Dedicated program track for older adults
- An auditorium holding up to 400
Our work is enhanced by collaboration and cooperation with our community partners and our dedication to our core Jewish values and beliefs.
We know that we still have unmet needs in many areas. We are encouraged by these opportunities to expand our arts and culture programming, to continue to add significant new services for adults and seniors, to provide more free space for our members to socialize, to expand our Aquatics Center and much more. The opportunities are endless to broaden our programming and to address the larger community both geographically and culturally.
