Consumer Couture - Not for Women Only!

For the program and a light lunch a nominal donation of $5 per person is requested which will be collected at the door. We invite those with names starting with M-Z to bring dessert to share.

With her own special twist on the idea of "eye candy," Charlotte Kruk uses recognizable consumer packaging - such as gum and candy wrappers, sugar and coffee bags, and food tins - to create garments and sculptures that reflect our material culture.

Visually compelling and conceptually provocative, Kruk's art has to be seen in person to be appreciated. Charlotte will show us her process and some of her amazing pieces.  We will have candy available so that all of us can contribute to her next piece of art!

About: The Retirees Lunch & Learn, a group of seniors that has been meeting at Congregation Shir Hadash for 10 years, has grown to some 200 members, with monthly programs attracting 40 people or more. Join us for the chance to visit, eat lunch, and hear a speaker or program.

Cost: Friends and family are invited to participate and are asked to make a $5 donation towards the cost of lunch. This donation is collected at the door. Groups of members alternate bringing in dessert.
