Repentance vs. Cancel Culture: Do We Allow Others to Do Teshuvah? (Zoom)
Cancel culture, now the rage, is a form of boycott in which someone is "canceled" and bullied because of a wrong they committed. With social media, the impacts are often permanent. We'll study the process and parameters of teshuvah in Jewish Law and discuss these questions: Should any transgression be irredeemable? Do we draw permanent lines that disallow others to repent? What price do we pay when we permanently disallow another's teshuvah?
